MAGYAR MŰSZÍNKÖR, CITY PARK, PERFORMANCE AREA

The building of Műszinkör, which operated between 1896 and 1944, originally worked as a circus in City Park, with an auditorium reminiscent of a Roman theatre. It came under the Magyar Műszínkör (a Hungarian theatre company) in 1896, when György Galló and Sándor Szalkay bought it, then reconstructed the building, the equipment of which was on a par with the highest technological standards at the time. The one-part plays performed here were changed to 3-part operas and contemporary pieces in 1920. The theatre operated for a long time.
